On 21 September, Ms Kerstin Funk, Supervisor for German as a Foreign Language at the Beijing Office of the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA), visited Hübschmann·Zhan School. During her visit, she held in-depth discussions with our German teaching team and observed German as a Foreign Language (DaF) lessons. She closely examined the organization of classroom teaching and gained a comprehensive understanding of the implementation of our German teaching. Ms Kerstin Funk spoke highly of our mature and complete German teaching system. She praised the scientific and systematic curriculum structure, the German teaching team with solid professional knowledge and excellent teaching competence, as well as the remarkable achievements in classroom teaching. During the long break, she personally awarded the students their German Language Diploma Level 1 (DSD I) certificates, fully acknowledging their persistent efforts and outstanding achievements in learning German.
The results of the national poetry and painting competition, “Stadt, Land, Fluss – Gedichte über deutsche Landschaften” (City, Country, River – Poems about German Landscapes), organised by the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA), have now been announced.We are delighted that artworks by ten Hübschmann·Zhan School students have been selected for the official 2026 ZfA Art Calendar and will be presented nationwide.Ms Kerstin Funk presented certificates to the successful students and their supervising teachers, marking a proud moment for our school and celebrating the students’ creativity and artistic achievement.
As the only 12-year German school abroad in Northeast China officially accredited by the Federal Ministry of Education of Germany, Hübschmann·Zhan School is proud to play a role in fostering educational and cultural exchange between China and Germany. The school offers a complete German MSA (Mittlerer Schulabschluss) and Abitur pathway and is an officially accredited examination centre for the German Language Diploma (DSD).At School,we place equal value on academic achievement and the development of creativity through the arts. Students are encouraged to explore ideas through painting and express themselves through German poetry, developing their creativity while gaining a deeper appreciation of another language and culture.This collection of artworks captures the imagination and individuality of our students. More than simply a catalogue, it is a meaningful reflection of their achievements and a vivid example of the opportunities created through HuZ’s integrated approach to Chinese-German education and cultural exchange.
