On September 24, Hübschmann·Zhan School’s ＂FUN Sports Day＂ officially kicked off in grand style. Bringing together the energy of sports and the poetic charm of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the event used sport as a bridge to create a vibrant platform for cross-cultural exchange, giving this school-wide celebration a deeper and more meaningful educational dimension.
Amid the joy of reunion, students, teachers, and parents came together to witness the exciting opening of this special autumn celebration on campus. Each class presented its own DIY class entrance sign, creatively incorporating Mid-Autumn Festival elements to create a unique symbol of class identity. On the track, individual races and relay events took center stage one after another. Students raced across the field, while Chinese and German students worked side by side as teammates. The passing of the relay baton represented more than just speed—it also carried friendship, understanding, and connection, vividly reflecting the school’s culture of diversity, inclusion, and harmonious coexistence.
Fun competitions and family challenges brought the whole event to life. Working together to complete challenges and taking part in competitions side by side, students and their families filled the campus with laughter and joy. Through these shared experiences and friendly competitions, the event brought our school and families closer together and created a vibrant day of connection and community. Our student volunteers were another highlight of the event. They supported teachers throughout the competitions, helped ensure the safety and smooth running of the activities, and demonstrated excellent communication and organizational skills.Beyond the competition field, the event also became a cultural learning experience. At the heart of the Mid-Autumn Festival is the idea of reunion and togetherness. Teachers, students, and parents came together to make mooncakes, experiencing traditional Chinese customs in an engaging and hands-on way. From preparing the filling to shaping the mooncakes, everyone had the opportunity to appreciate the beautiful symbolism of the full moon and family reunion.
As the gentle melody of a song celebrating the bright Mid-Autumn moon filled the air, the awards ceremony officially began. Every drop of sweat shed on the field was transformed into a well-earned medal of honor. These awards were not only recognition of the students’ dedication and perseverance, but also an encouragement for them to keep their passion alive and embrace even more exciting challenges and achievements ahead!
