On September 11, Hübschmann·Zhan School was delighted to welcome firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Brigade of the Tiexi Economic Development Zone to our campus for an engaging and immersive fire safety training and emergency drill.
At the beginning of the event, the firefighters interacted face-to-face with our students, introducing essential fire safety knowledge and patiently answering their questions. Their vivid and engaging explanations quickly captured the students’ attention and provided valuable guidance for the school’s emergency preparedness and fire safety drills.
As the alarm bells rang, the earthquake and fire evacuation drills began in sequence. Students and teachers remained calm and composed, following the key evacuation procedures and quickly making their way to the designated assembly area. The most anticipated part of the event was the hands-on experience. Guided by the firefighters, students took part in practical activities in small groups. Standing beside the impressive fire engine, they were introduced to various types of rescue equipment carried on board. The students eagerly observed the equipment up close and enthusiastically asked questions.Under the firefighters’ guidance, our older students also learned how to use a fire extinguisher. They had the opportunity to handle the extinguisher themselves and carry out a hands-on firefighting exercise. Students also experienced using a fire hose, and as powerful streams of water shot into the air, excited cheers and exclamations filled the scene. Through these hands-on activities, the students gained a deeper and more vivid understanding of the work of firefighters.
Throughout the event, the firefighters provided patient guidance and detailed explanations, giving our students the opportunity to learn essential fire safety skills at close range. By combining safety education with realistic, hands-on practice, the drill transformed fire safety knowledge from something learned in books into practical skills that students could experience and apply themselves. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Brigade of the Tiexi Economic Development Zone for their professional support, patient guidance, and dedicated efforts. At Hübschmann·Zhan School, we remain committed to integrating safety education into everyday school life and creating a safe environment where every student can learn, grow, and thrive.
