HuZ School | A Warm and Joyful Sino-German Christmas Season |
Dec  18, 2025

The warm winter sunshine filled every corner of HuZ School, and the spirit of Christmas echoed gently across the campus. A festive month blending Chinese and German traditions, full of warmth and joy, officially began.

The Visit of St. Nicholas – Opening the Christmas Season

As one of the school’s cherished annual traditions—and a vivid reflection of German Christmas culture—the “Visit of St. Nicholas” on December 8 set the tone for a heartwarming Christmas month. What the children looked forward to most was the arrival of “St. Nicholas” himself, dressed in traditional attire—wearing a long robe trimmed in gold, with a kind smile on his face, as if he had stepped straight out of a German Christmas tale.

Knock, knock, knock. A clear tapping sounded at each classroom door. Outside, neatly arranged, were mysterious Christmas gifts waiting for the children—officially opening the joyful chapter of the Christmas season.

A Sino-German Christmas Filled with Warmth

On December 11, green Christmas trees and twinkling lights transformed the campus into a fairytale world. The highlight of the day was the “Christmas Market,” lovingly prepared by parents. They became “stall owners,” offering a wide variety of special items: German-style treats, traditional Chinese handmade crafts, Christmas-themed toys and sweets loved by children, as well as practical stationery and everyday items. Everyone wandered between the stalls, choosing gifts that caught their eye.

Beyond the lively market, the “Christmas Activity Stations” became popular spots for children to visit. A Christmas photo corner captured heartwarming memories; at the “Christmas Workshop,” children made their own cone-shaped treats or decorated Christmas backpacks—infusing their creativity into festive gifts. Christmas puzzles, movie screenings, KTV singing, and many other activities filled the campus with a warm atmosphere of collaboration between families and the school.

As evening fell, the Christmas performances and the tree-lighting ceremony began. On stage, the students presented impressive shows that blended Chinese and German cultural elements, earning rounds of applause from the audience. Each performance highlighted the children’s talents and embodied the school’s core value of “Sino-German integration,” allowing a rich cultural spirit to flow across the stage.

After the performances, all eyes turned to the Christmas tree. Holding the lighting switch, the principal pressed the button as students and parents counted down together. In an instant, colorful lights illuminated the tree. May these lights bring hope and beauty for the coming year—lighting up faces across the crowd and brightening the children’s hopes for the future.

Christmas Gift Exchange – Winter Treasures

On December 12, the “Christmas Gift Exchange” added yet another touch of warmth and emotion to the campus. To give the event a sense of mystery, the school arranged for students to draw lots in advance to determine their gift recipients. In the days leading up to the exchange, the children carefully selected and thoughtfully wrapped their presents, hoping to create a moment of surprise for their classmates. Each gift was more than an object—it was a symbol of friendship, becoming one of the most treasured memories of the Christmas season.

The Christmas Month at HuZ School is not only a festive celebration, but also a deep cultural exchange between China and Germany. In this warm winter, these unique Christmas memories will remain a treasured part of the school community’s shared experience—a winter treasure in the hearts of students and teachers alike.
