March marks a special time for French speakers worldwide—a moment to celebrate the rich diversity of French language and culture. During this Francophonie Month event, poets from China, France, and various other countries with French-speaking communities come together to participate in a series of engaging activities. These include film screenings, composing workshops, and captivating exhibitions. The 25th edition of “Le Printemps des Poètes”, or The Poets’ Spring in English, is a significant part of Francophonie Month. It celebrates the profound connection between readers and poets, all under the theme of “Grace.” As one of the key event locations in Shenyang, Hübschmann·Zhan School proudly hosts the 2024 “Le Printemps des Poètes” event.
On March 7th, with the support of the French Consulate General in Shenyang, we had the honor of hosting the acclaimed French Slam Poetry artis, George Ka, at our school. George Ka, known for her evocative performances and passionate flow, graced our stage and dove into a captivating workshop about composing poetry with our students.
During our event, we screened the acclaimed French film “Sirocco et le royaume des courants d’air” (Sirocco and the Kingdom of the Winds). This enchanting film not only encouraged students to find courage and gain insight but also ignited their imagination and resonated deeply within them.
George Ka’s poetic and artistic rap performance at Hübschmann·Zhan School ignited inspiration in everyone present. Her captivating stage presence and friendly interactions with the students left a lasting impression. During the inspiring composition workshop, participants seamlessly blended music with their compositions, aiming to awaken their inner poet. This workshop encouraged them to explore their own unique rhythm and poetry. The entire event unfolded in a joyful and inspiring atmosphere, where time seemed to slip away unnoticed. Notably, George Ka’s impromptu French romantic Slam Poetry raps electrified the ambiance, infusing our school’s spring with even more vibrancy.

Thanks to the Francophonie Month, we’re thrilled to embark on this wonderful journey together.
