On March 6, 2024, Hübschmann·Zhan School held a "PASCH School" awarding ceremony. Mr. Hendrik Barkeling, Consul General of the German Consulate General in Shenyang, Ms. Beate Kayser, Consul and interpreter of the German Consulate General in Shenyang, and Ms. Stefany Henderson, Director of Central Agency for German Schools Abroad in the North China region, attended the ceremony together to award the "PASCH School" plaque and make a visit to the DSD educational project of our school.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Principal Mike Liu extended our sincere welcome and gratitude to the distinguished guests in attendance on behalf of all the faculty and students. He emphasized that being a PASCH school signifies that the German language instruction of our school has been acknowledged. There is no need to apply elsewhere; our students are now able to take the DSD examination, a national-level German language test organized by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, right within their school. With the officially recognized DSD certificate, they are eligible to apply to their ideal German universities. In this way, our students can also make their contribution to the further exchanges between Chinese and German education.

During her presentation, Ms. Henderson shared information on the background of the German PASCH project. She praised the high quality of German language instruction at our school, particularly our innovative teaching approach. Using humorous examples, she highlighted the unique features of the German language. Ms. Henderson encouraged students to persist in their studies and emphasized the convenience of on-campus exams for obtaining the DSD language certificate, which opens doors for further education in Germany. She also emphasized that the DSD project not only validates our successful German language program but also offers lasting benefits to Hübschmann·Zhan School students.

During the awarding ceremony, Principal Mike Liu received the plaque of "German PASCH School" from Ms. Henderson, signifying that Hübschmann·Zhan School has officially become a PASCH school authorized by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Hendrik Barkeling, the Consul-General of the German Consulate, also delivered a speech at the ceremony, expressing his good wishes and expectations for the future development of the project.

During the ceremony, four exceptional student representatives delivered speeches in fluent German, sharing their experiences of learning the language at Hübschmann·Zhan School. When one of them expressed her enthusiasm to take the upcoming DSD examination which was only a week away, both guests and faculty couldn’t help but share a warm chuckle at the student’s eagerness. Thier confident demeanor showcased a strong foundation in the German language, lending a special lustre to the event.

In February 2008, the "Schools: Partners of the Future" (PASCH) project, initiated by the German Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was officially launched. The PASCH project has established a global network comprising 2,000 primary and secondary schools, aiming to awaken the interest and enthusiasm of young people towards Germany and German-speaking communities, as well as to promote international exchanges.

Becoming a PASCH school is a great honor for Hübschmann·Zhan School. We see this as an opportunity to strengthen communication between the education sectors of China and Germany, acting as a bridge and fostering bonds among PASCH schools. Our goal is to elevate the quality of German language teaching. We aspire to provide our students with a broader platform for learning and development, embracing the infinite possibilities of the future.
