Hübschmann·Zhan School focuses on creating a comprehensive, immersive, and multi-lingual learning environment for our students so that they can lay a solid foundation of languages. Recently, we held separate “English Day” activities for our primary and secondary students, which allowed them to practice English in a more interesting way and unleash their language potential. The students put their English skills to use and tried to feel, to explore, and to understand the world with English!
Spelling Bee
The Spelling Bee is a thrilling English spelling contest that began in the United States and has grown into a global event with spellers and spectators from every corner of the world. It is sometimes referred to as the “Olympics” of the English language, as spelling Olympiads are held everywhere. The primary section of the Spelling Bee demonstrated the amazing skills of our young spellers who are ready to compete in these Olympics!
The students displayed their spelling prowess on stage one by one, impressing everyone with their remarkable talent! The competition intensified as the rounds progressed, with these young "language artists" showing off their mastery of increasingly difficult words. As the contest heated up, the judges posed more complicated words to challenge the contestants. Yet, our students remained composed and calm under pressure, showcasing their impressive spelling abilities. At this moment, the students were not only just contestants on a stage but artisans of the language.
English Speech Contest
The English Speech Contest was a lively and interactive event with many students participating. The middle school students told their stories in smooth English. Some of them read monologues from some of their favourite movies, while others created their own speeches from scratch. Everyone was captivated by the speeches the contestants delivered. Students showed their strong English skills, expressing through their words their zest for life, their ambition for dreams, and their interest in the world. We could see the fun and excitement between the contestant and the audience through their lively speeches and warm applause.
English is not only a tool for communication, but also a key to a broader world. The high level of language proficiency and confidence of our students have brought a successful end to the wonderful "English Day" event. Hübschmann·Zhan School will continue to cultivate students' multilingual proficiency while enhancing their cross-cultural communication skills and international vision!
