Different lives under the same sky can be vastly different. In the remote mountainous areas, many children face a tough life because of the unfriendly environment. Uch is the case for the children living deep in the mountains of Daliang Yi Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province. They only have old and thin clothes to put on every day, even though there is a large temperature difference between day and night on the plateau. They also have to help with a lot of farm and household work in their free time. But they don’t let their lack of backpacks, books, and bedclothes stop their dreams. They still wish to discover the world.
For several years, our school has been caring for the children in Daliang Mountain. We have collaborated with the parents of our students to raise funds through our Charity Run activities, taking the well-being of the Daliang children as our responsibility and mission. And with the help of volunteers, we have sent warmth and supplies to the children in the mountains.
We rush to get and deliver materials such as milk powder, jackets, blankets, sneakers, backpacks, books, learning tools, and sports gear like basketballs and footballs. Even though we cannot hand over the materials to the children personally, the love and kindness will closely connect the students from both places!
We did our best to buy all the daily necessities we could think of. With the help of local volunteers, bags of donated goods were delivered to the children in Daliang Mountain. The joy in their eyes when they received the materials made the efforts in the “Charity Run” more meaningful. This charity event marked the growth of students from both places. This year, the children in Daliang Mountain sent us a video of thanks. They learned about the diverse cultural backgrounds of our students and specially expressed their gratitude through the English they had learned!
“Every drop of water forms the ocean, every bit of love brings hope.” Thank you again for the active participation of parents and children in this charity event. Your kindness will warm the children of Daliang Mountain like sunshine. HuZ Cares will continue to uphold its responsibility, and also carry out charitable activities without interruption, helping disadvantaged groups, contributing as much as possible to society, making the world more beautiful, and being touched by the generosity of others!
