The ‘German Carnival’ is an event that the Germans hold to celebrate the end of winter and welcome spring. They will spend a whole day having fun.
The carnival at Hübschmann·Zhan Deutsche Schule Shenyang allows students to practice their traditions and celebrate their own festivals in China. The essence of German education is reflected throughout the whole carnival from the careful preparation to the happy atmosphere on the day.
Here comes the parade! Dressed as witches, clowns, supermen, cowboys, princesses, pirates, and various cute animals, the students sang and danced joyously with their teachers, who also put on their costumes for this special day.
The parade team set out accompanied by cheerful music, they went from classroom to classroom, throwing lucky candies into the air, and inviting each of their friends to join the procession. The carnival brought surprise, fun, and joy on this special day to the children, where they could enjoy themselves happily.
Although in China, we still tried to make traditional German food for the carnival: Berliner (a German Doughnut). The children paraded happily, shared candy with each other, danced to music, and talked freely with others. The children acted out the roles depicted by their costumes, learning and growing together.
This special day at Hübschmann·Zhan Deutsche Schule Shenyang marks a beautiful exchange between a German traditional festival and a school in China. Here, we make it possible for children to grow up with both their homeland spirit and a heart open to diverse cultures. Here in HuZ, we can see you and you can see the world!
