On November 4th, as one site of the Sino-French Environment Month, Hübschmann·Zhan Deutsche Schule Shenyang was invited by the Consulate General of France in Shenyang to the opening ceremony of the 9th Sino-French Environment Month, and visited the "Colorful Nature" Sino-French Photography Exhibition together, enjoying the unique scenery and the wonders of the earth through the lens.
Sino-French Environment Month is an interdisciplinary event organized by the French Embassy in China in several cities here focusing on environmental issues. As an "old friend" of the Sino-French Environment Month, our school has always played an active role in strengthening Sino-French cultural and humanistic exchanges, and constantly led students to explore and pay attention to environmental protection related topics.
With the theme of "Blue Planet", the 9th Sino-French Environment Month brings about the knowledge about oceans, climate, water resources and other related aspects from different perspectives, and makes everyone think about how to maintain a good and sustainable environment on a personal level. On November 16th, Hübschmann·Zhan Deutsche Schule Shenyang showed students an environmental protection film, Oceans. What is the ocean? This movie gives us the answer. Following the camera, students can explore this deep and mysterious world and feel the magnificent vastness of the ocean.
Teachers and students exchanged their impressions after watching the film, and discussed the topic of "what should we do to protect the environment" in either English or French language, getting a better understanding of marine life. This gave the students a deep awareness that protecting the environment and caring for the earth is the common mission of mankind, and that we must protect the environment and this blue planet in practise.
Joining hands with the French Consulate General in Shenyang, we have not only provided a good platform for students to learn about nature and pay attention to environmental issues, but also enhanced the cultural infiltration and exchange between each other in the in-depth communication between China and France. This will expand students’ international vision from more perspectives and lay a solid foundation for their global knowledge reserve.
