1. Film screening: La Glace et le Ciel (Ice and the Sky)
On the afternoon of October 16th, Hübschmann Zhan School French teachers organized a film-screening activity for our Secondary students who are French or fans of French language. They watched the French documentary “La glace et le ciel” (“Ice and the Sky”) together.
The check-in ceremony for the event continued the unique and creative style of Sino-French Environment Month HuZ School station: we folded waste paper into butterflies, turning waste into treasures. The activity drew students’ attention to environmental protection issues and shared a different kind of life.
With the support of the French Consulate General in Shenyang, students watched and discussed about this Chinese-French bilingual documentary, which aroused their concerns on environment issues such as the role of human in climate change. Students were inspired to think about and improve their current mode of life. We believe that the film will not only convey value and emotions, but also connect different minds and hearts together.
2. Whale painting creation
The ocean is the cradle of human life. But the deteriorating marine environment has made the protection of ocean a daunting task. It needs more awareness and efforts to protect natural ecology. On October 27th, as one venue of the Sino-French Environmental Month, our school organized a meaningful environmental activity - the creation of whale painting with recycled materials.
This animal of intelligence and freedom became a carrier for teachers and students to express their environment protection concepts. The big whale painting was composed of used water bottles and recycled household wastes collected by students. Their unique and innovative way of art creation brought the whale to life! In the process of creating their works, students constantly tried and explored new designs, carefully selected and compared different materials, and finally completed the environmental art work with patience and focus, turning the beautiful imagination into reality!
The Sino-French Environmental Month at HuZ School has come to a successful end. Students have learned about the impact of human activities on the natural environment and about how to protect Earth's resources from their own perspective. Although the activity has ended, we will always practice the concept of environmental protection! We’ll try to raise public awareness of environmental protection as much as possible, live a sustainable life, and have fun and gain from it. Let's explore the mysteries between human and nature together!
