On October 13, 2023, the French Consulate General in Shenyang launched the 10th Sino-French Environment Month, with activities themed on “Vivre Autrement” (Living differently). Hübschmann·Zhan School has supported and participated in the Sino-French Environment Month for several years in a row and was invited to witness the exciting opening ceremony of “Vivre Autrement” on site.
As part of our close collaboration with the French Consulate General in Shenyang, our school will host a series of activities during the Sino-French Environment Month in 2023, such as the “Fallen Leaf Regeneration” workshop, environmental film screening and whale painting contest.
On October 14th, the representatives of the French Consulate General in Shenyang visited HuZ School to inaugurate the environmental series activities of the Sino-French Environment Month at HuZ School. Ms. Charlene, Cooperation Attaché at the Service for Cooperation and Cultural Action, along with more than a hundred participants from inside and outside the school, folded waste paper into paper butterflies of various shapes, which became beautiful home decorations. The concept of “making waste paper into butterflies” illustrates the idea of protecting the environment as well as our positive and eco-friendly attitude of “turning waste into treasure”.
In this activity, we recycled waste materials, transformed fallen leaves into artworks, and experimented with natural dyeing. After the opening ceremony, HuZ School and the French Consulate General in Shenyang jointly hosted the “Fallen Leaf Regeneration” environmental workshop. The students created beautiful “leaf paintings” with the fallen leaves they collected and framed them. We promoted a green lifestyle by reusing fallen leaves and trimming branches. Through this, we also developed good environmental awareness and habits, and discovered the wonders of nature.
Hübschmann·Zhan School and the French Consulate General in Shenyang had a meaningful and eco-friendly day with the students and parents. The diverse and vibrant environmental activities enabled children to have fun while learning about the concept of “Vivre Autrement”! Let’s embrace a different lifestyle, creatively produce and appreciate the beauty of nature!
