On May 31st, HuZ Cares, the voluntary program of Hübschmann·Zhan Deutsche Schule Shenyang held a "Riverbank Cleaning Activity". This event is not only an environmental protection lesson for students, but also aims to promote students’ awareness of creating a green society and a call to care for the environment to build a beautiful planet.
That day, teachers and students took the school buses to the gate of the Yougu Park and learned about the significance of this activity from the guide. Meanwhile, Mr. Tianning, the secretary of Yougu community was invited to the activity and gave a speech on site. The venues of our activity, Yougu Park and Pump Track Park, are both within the jurisdiction of the Yougu community, which gave us strong support since the preparation phase of the activity. It’s a collaboration of our school and the community to protect the environment. After understanding the arrangements, teachers and students picked up their tools and started cleaning the riverbank.
The students carefully picked up the garbage as they walked along the path, passing through Swan Castle Park and the quiet woods. Walking along the route, they arrived at the Shenyang International Pump Track Park, which is the world's largest pump track park holding the Guinness World Records and is also a new landmark of Shenyang's international style and ecology. Through this riverbank cleaning activity, our teachers and students have accomplished one of the most meaningful tasks in the world's largest pump track park.
In the green scenery, students set a good example for visitors through their actions and showed their care for the environment. At the end of the activity, students delivered the garbage they collected to the garbage truck for sorting and recycling. Our joint efforts have made a cleaner ecological environment for the park, and the students faces were full of smiles and a sense of achievement. This is the moment when people and the environment are connected through an invisible sense of harmony.
Nature is the most beautiful thing on Earth. During this activity, students learned about the importance of ecological protection and conveyed the concept of environmental protection through their actions. In the future, Hübschmann·Zhan Deutsche Schule Shenyang will continue to cultivate students’ awareness of environmental protection and encourage them to put it into practice.”
