Easter is an important Western holiday symbolizing revival and hope. It is celebrated every year on the Sunday following the first full moon after the vernal equinox. Every year at Hübschmann·Zhan Deutsche Schule Shenyang, our students celebrate this festival together. Carefully planned and prepared by our faculty, our Easter series of activities allow students to create their own handcrafts in a festive atmosphere. So what are the highlights of this year's activities?
In the celebration of Easter, elementary school students, led by teachers and parents, engaged their infinite imagination and creativity. They made Easter door wreaths, hand-painted bags, three-dimensional ornaments, rabbit masks, and picture coloring. Students were so proud of their art that they could not help taking pictures of them. Those unrestrained pieces of work fully demonstrated their amazing talents and hands-on abilities!
The most exciting part of the activity was the traditional Easter egg-hunting. Teachers had previously hidden chocolate eggs and chocolate rabbits in the garden for students to find. With the teacher's words: "Fangen wir an!" (Let's start!), students rushed out to search here and there in the garden cheerfully. They were amazed to find out inside the chocolate eggs were heartwarming Easter greetings from their teachers.
The whole Easter series of activities came to a successful end. What they gained was not only handicrafts and chocolates but also a memorable Easter full of fun and joy. Our students will grow their cultural tolerance and cross-culture understanding through such activities at school, and grow into true international citizens!
