Art is the perception of external elements by the heart, and the greater the work of art, the more it can unleash our minds and spirit. As a forerunner in promoting international education and art culture, Hübschmann·Zhan Deutsche Schule Shenyang has always advocated for the diversified expression of culture and art, and hopes to expose students to different types of cultural forms through various activities.
This March is the 27th “Mois de la francophonie”, the Francophone Month. Our school took the middle school students to the art exhibition jointly organized by the French Consulate General in Shenyang and the French Museum Research and Restoration Center.
The exhibition took us through the history of art in a novel way of narration. It also exhibited innovative works created through medical X-rays, those derivative works of masterpieces in French museums. We followed the guidance of our art teacher to visit the works on display and to feel the charm of art. Students are able to observe the classic works of legendary painters such as Van Gogh, Manet, Picasso, and Leonardo da Vinci from a different perspective, getting a new experience of art appreciation.
Immersed in the wonder and beauty of art, students were inspired to explore and expand the value and practical significance of art from perspectives of different eras. Such close contact with great artworks is the most efficient way of aesthetic education. It allows students to develop more interest and respect towards art, and to learn about the different views on the world.
Through this study tour to the exhibition, we believe that our students can see the artists’ never-ending exploration and pursuit in life and aesthetics; we can see through our eyes the artists’ inspirations hidden behind their works, communicate closely with them and keep improving our aesthetic appreciation and artistic understanding!
