In the international section of HuZ School, students had a busy and successful school year, which was also lots of fun for them. The 2020/21 school year is unusual: Like everyone else, we were forced to deal with Corona, but our experiences from last year helped us to cope with this situation. Homeschooling was seamlessly combined with face-to-face teaching. Diverse school events were also held, which we remember vividly. We can congratulate the committed teachers and students for this successful year.
With the guidance of the teacher Taylor, the students performed a theater play at this semester-ending event. Students practiced with their teacher parts of the classics "The Romance of Three Kingdoms" and "Journey to the West". With the form of role play, which is very popular today, students were able to understand the classical literature better, because they had to play these roles by themselves, which pushed the cognitive understanding process forward. The teacher later said that in the future she would like to integrate theater play even better and more frequently into the teaching process in order to strengthen the students' abilities for independent, self-determined learning and to develop and demonstrate their self-confidence.
In summary, looking back into the last year, we can say that we were particularly impressed by two events this year: the international Kangaroo mathematics competition and the charity run at the sports summer festival. On both events extraordinary achievements were made by teachers and students.
The excellent achievements of this school year were also highlighted and lovingly appreciated by Mr. Liu, our headmaster, in his speech at the end of the school year. The 2020-2021 school year was a great success. With the summer vacation coming soon, Mr. Liu asked the students to pay special attention to their safety while traveling and vacationing, and then he wished everyone a happy vacation!
