HuZ School World Book Day | Seeing Different Cultures Through Reading |
May  08, 2025

On the occasion of World Book Day on April 23,

Hübschmann·Zhan School carefully planned and hosted

a week-long series of rich book-sharing activities,

creating a vibrant, book-filled atmosphere across the campus.

1. Book Sharing Project: A Collision of Languages, Opening New Horizons in Reading

At the beginning of the event, the school launched a uniquely designed book-sharing project. At designated sharing spots across the campus, students eagerly wrote down information about their favorite or recommended books. This sharing included books in Chinese, German, English, French, and other languages, building a bridge of knowledge that transcends borders.

Here, students could discover both Chinese literary classics and the magical worlds of foreign literature. Through multilingual book sharing, students broadened their horizons, gained insights into the cultural depths of different nations and ethnic groups, and developed a keen desire to explore diverse cultures, adding vibrant colors to their reading experiences.

2. Book Sharing Sessions: Cross-Grade Interaction, A Feast of Knowledge

Students from Grades 5 to 8 transformed into "Reading Ambassadors," sharing their books and reading experiences with students from Grades 1 to 4, creating a platform for cross-grade communication and interaction.

During the sharing sessions, the older students carefully prepared presentations, vividly narrating stories, reading exciting excerpts, and conducting lively Q&A sessions to share the content and their reflections. The books they introduced covered a wide range of genres, including philosophical and motivational works, captivating science fiction, and meaningful historical stories.

This cross-grade interaction not only strengthened friendships between middle and elementary school students, giving them more opportunities to understand and connect with each other, but also facilitated the sharing and transmission of knowledge and insights.Through mutual learning and communication, students grew together, making the book-sharing sessions a true feast of knowledge.

Students not only experienced the charm of reading but also helped cultivate a strong reading atmosphere on campus, turning reading into a habit and a trend. With books as companions, they will continue on the path of reading, gaining more knowledge and wisdom along the way.
