One of the most important skills that our students learn and deepen in primary school is reading. The promotion of reading is particularly important to us, because it strengthens a large number of fundamental skills in the child. In order to make the children enjoy reading, a reading and fairy tale festival for all primary school grades of the German school took place on Friday, March 26th, 2021 during the time of the first four lessons. The imagination, fantasy and creativity of our youngest children were stimulated and their vocabulary expanded in a playful way and with all their senses.
The reading festival opened with a 3rd and 4th grade play written by Stehauf on the fairy tale Snow White.
The children were then divided into four stations, which they could go through one after the other. Ms. Rabea Glotz read her trilingual children's book “Basti” at one of the stations and then prepared the content with the children using rhymes. Sports stations in the exercise room on the theme of fairy tales provided enough exercise, games and fun. At the “Reading & Playing” station, knowledge about well-known children's fairy tales was expanded with learning and reading games. And a sound story with Ms. Pöschl made this morning musical.
As a refreshment in between there was a common, healthy snack time, which was lovingly prepared by some parents. Thank you very much for your support at this point. Finally, a big thank you goes to our colleagues Simsek, Schätzer, Umreich, Gradwohl and Pöschl for their commitment and the implementation of this joyful event.
In addition to the colleagues, there is one other person to be highlighted: Ms. Glotz. Not only has she been supporting our primary school once a week since this school year as a reading godmother and in activities like this one, but also had a special surprise for all children on this day - Basti as a stuffed animal. THANK YOU!!!
